Description du lieu
The Falls of Clyde are a series of spectacular waterfalls on the River Clyde near the UNESCO World Heritage village of New Lanark. This image captures the Corra Linn – the tallest of the areas falls (26m), viewed from an elevated lookout. The scene is framed entirely by deciduous woodland ablaze with autumn colour — golds, ambers, and deep russets The site can be busy with visitors, particularly at weekends. There is a large carpark at the start of the woodland walk.
Notes de prise de vue
Autumn is unquestionably the best season here, when the surrounding woodland transforms into a spectacular palette of colour that frames the white water beautifully. A long exposure smooths the cascades while retaining detail in the rock steps littered with fallen leaves. The viewpoint is reached via a well-maintained path (allow around 30 mins) which includes uphill sections and steps. The drawback of the location is that the trees around the lookout restrict the overall composition options. Quantity of water flowing can also affect balance of the image.
