Description du lieu
The Great Hall is the grandest chamber within Edinburgh Castle, built for James IV around 1500 as a setting for ceremony and feasting. The panelled walls feature exquisite carved details, and the hammerbeam ceiling above is magnificent. Edinburgh Castle receives some 2 million+ visitors a year and this room is constantly busy, but there is still enough space to allow for unobstructed photos.
Notes de prise de vue
An indoor scene for any season. The main challenge here is the lighting and crowds. A super-wide lens will allow you to get closer than a standard lens while still capturing the scale of the room, though be aware of perspective distortion. Remember to be mindful of other visitors. Be patient if the room is busy and wait for a break in the flow of foot traffic. The chequered floor is great for symmetry and leading the eye into the shot. Permission may be required for tripods, however a higher ISO and lower aperture can achieve similar results hand-held.
