Description du lieu

Murrayfield Stadium is Scotland’s national rugby stadium with a seated capacity of over 67,000. It is the largest stadium in Scotland and one of the largest in the United Kingdom. A row of characterful old ticket-holder turnstiles (which are still in use) line Roseburn Street opposite the tram stop and create a fun contrast with the modern stadium behind. The site has been used as the home of Scottish rugby for over 100 years with this structure being erected in the 1990s. The venue is also regularly used for music and sporting events throughout the year.

Notes de prise de vue

The turnstiles catch good light early in the morning and the posts and long shadows in the foreground help create a layered composition. A standard 50mm focal length crops the scene well. Shoot square-on from across the road for a clean, undistorted view making sure to move back far enough that the word ‘Murrayfield’ is unobstructed by the turnstiles or the clock tower that sits just inside the ground.
