Location description

Looking out over Emily Bay today it’s hard to imagine that such beauty could be located within the site of one of the most brutal penal settlements in colonial history. Today, Emily Bay is the epicentre of marine activity and family fun in Kingston.

Shooting notes

Shown here in the middle of the day when the sun is highest and the pine trees on the foreshore create a beautiful mottled shade. The tide is quite high which accentuates the beautiful turquoise colours of Emily's crystal clear waters. It's tricky to get everything in the one frame, as this viewpoint presents near 180° of beauty. Emily bay is striking at any time of day or night!
